Focusing on product definition, road map discussion, new technology introducing, SoC development supporting. Possess in-depth understanding of various key modules commonly found in SoCs, such as CPU, Graphics, Computer Vision, Multimedia (Audio/Video/ISP), DDR Controller, Cache Coherency, Memory Consistency, Fabric, Power Management, Security, and System architecture.

-  Strong problem-solving, analytical, and innovative abilities. Keep an eye on industry trends and new technologies, continuously driving chip architecture optimization and innovation.

Summary

The company is seeking an energetic and highly motivated CPU architect to drive future CPU hardware requirements that meet product vision, including considerations for feature requirements, CPU and silicon capabilities and power budgets. The ideal candidate would have the capabilities required to perform detailed system analysis and trade off evaluations while pushing boundaries in this wide technology space with the goal of arriving at the most optimal solutions.

 

Responsibilities

• Independently identify potential areas for improvement while collecting data and measurements that either confirm your ideas or rule them out.

• Define new micro-architectures and optimize existing ones. Use your intuition gained from experience and a guide but not as a filter.

• Collaborate with experienced designers in micro-architecture and RTL to assess the feasibility of ideas, refine ideas and seed new ones.

• Analysis of specific workloads across existing and new emerging product categories to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.

• Collaborate with other architects to maintain and improve the simulation environment and look for ways to boost the productivity for the team

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of CPU architecture and micro-architecture concepts as well as deep expertise in one or more focused CPU areas.         

• Comfortable in an environment of uncertainty and be able to work through ambiguities.

• You must have strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills.

• Hand-on experience with high-level simulators for performance or power estimation

• Proficiency in C and C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python

• Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and  workloads

 

Education and Experience

BS/MS/PhD or higher preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of education
